The OTHM Level 5 Extended Diploma in Early Childhood Education is designed to develop learners’ understanding of a wide range of topics relevant to early childhood development theories. Course requirements

OTHM states that these qualifications are designed for learners typically aged 18 and above. The entry profile is likely to include prior study or equivalent experience, and non-majority English-speaking applicants must provide evidence of English language competency.

  • Relevant Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma, GCE Advanced Level in 3 subjects, or equivalent qualification; mature learners over 21 with relevant experience may also be accepted

  • If the learner is not from a majority English-speaking country, evidence of English language competency is required

Assessments

All units are assessed and internally quality assured by the centre and externally verified by OTHM. Assessment is criterion-referenced and learners must achieve all specified learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit to gain a pass.
