Course requirements

Entry is based on the official OTHM requirements for academic level, age, and English language competence where applicable.

  • Learners must hold an honours degree in a related subject or a UK Level 6 diploma, or an equivalent overseas qualification; mature learners with management experience may also be considered

  • Learners must be 21 or older at the beginning of the course, and learners from non-majority English-speaking countries must provide evidence of English language competency

Assessments

All units are internally assessed by the centre and externally verified by OTHM. Assessment is criterion-referenced and learners must meet all learning outcomes and assessment criteria to achieve a pass.

  • Strategic Management and Marketing: Coursework, approximately 4000 words

  • Destination Management, Tourism Policy and International Development, Digital Tourism and Hospitality, and Organisational Behaviour in Tourism and Hospitality: Coursework, approximately 4000 words per unit

  • Advanced Research Methods: Research Project, approximately 4000 words

  • Pass is awarded only when all specified learning outcomes and assessment criteria are met

Progression

The qualification enables progression into or within employment and, because it is approved and regulated by Ofqual, can also support entry to Master’s top-up study with advanced standing where appropriate.
