About course

The OTHM Level 5 Diploma in Law is designed to help learners develop knowledge and understanding of core legal principles while strengthening the professional and research skills needed for further study and employment. It forms part of OTHM’s regulated law qualifications and is assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to Year 2 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree programme.

Course requirements

Entry is intended for learners aged 18 and above who have suitable prior study or relevant experience, together with the English language ability needed for Level 5 study.

  • Relevant Level 3 Diploma, GCE Advanced level in 2 subjects, or an equivalent qualification; mature learners over 21 with relevant experience may also be considered

  • Learners from non-majority English-speaking countries must provide evidence of English language competency

Assessments

The qualification is internally assessed by the centre and externally verified by OTHM. Learners must achieve all specified learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit to gain a pass.

  • Learners must provide evidence to achieve a pass in each unit
