Course requirements

Entry is based on prior higher-level study or relevant management experience, and learners must meet the minimum age requirement set by OTHM.

  • An honours degree in a related subject or a UK Level 6 diploma or equivalent overseas qualification

  • Mature learners with management experience, and learners must be 21 years old or older at the beginning of the course

Assessments

Assessment is coursework based. All units are internally assessed by the centre and externally verified by OTHM, and learners must meet all learning outcomes and assessment criteria to achieve a pass.

  • Overall assessment method is coursework

  • Qualification grading is pass or fail

  • Principles of Risk Management, Strategic Risk Management, Responsible Leadership and Governance, Organisational and Environmental Risk, and Risk Analysis and Modelling are each assessed by a report of approximately 4500 words

  • Advanced Research Methods is assessed by a research proposal of approximately 4500 words

Progression

Successful completion enables learners to progress into or within employment and/or continue further study. As an Ofqual-regulated Level 7 qualification, it can support progression to MBA top-up or related master’s top-up study with advanced standing.
