About course

The OTHM Level 4 Certificate in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is designed to develop learners’ knowledge and understanding of how to effectively promote and review equality, diversity and inclusive practice in a learning environment. It supports learners in analysing and implementing regulatory frameworks, working with colleagues and reflecting on their own practice.

Course requirements

This qualification is designed for learners who are typically aged 19 and above. Learners should meet the published entry profile set by OTHM and the approved delivery centre.

  • Be 19 years old or older at the beginning of the course, have minimum core literacy, language, numeracy and ICT skills, and hold at least a Level 3 qualification in their own area of specialism

  • Or be a mature learner aged over 21 with relevant management experience, subject to checking suitability with the delivery centre before registration

Assessments

All units are assessed by the centre and internally quality assured, with external verification by OTHM. The qualification is criterion referenced and based on achievement of all specified learning outcomes.

  • Coursework assessment across all units

  • Equality and Diversity unit assessed by case study of approximately 3500 words

  • Inclusive Practice unit assessed through case study, reports and presentation with speaker notes

  • Action Research unit assessed by research proposal of approximately 3500 words
